My name is Allison but most people call me Sam. I knew your grandmother. She was very kind to me. Your family has suffered some serious losses, I will pray for all of you.

Sam, I’d love to chat in person or online sometime. I miss her every day. All the time. Talking about her would be wonderful.
pray for mexico, but please specially pray for the indigenous communities affected by the hurricane, tonight not only the hurricane was trending topic in twitter but also the hashtag #AdiosIndigenasDeColima which translates to “bye to the indigenous people of colima” a hashtag full of racist jokes, denigrating remarks and hateful comments towards the indigenous groups of the region, people are laughing and wishing for them to disappear due to their communities being the most vulnerable to disaster because of the lack of infrastructure and support by the mexican goverment, please pray for mexico but i beg you to specially pray for the native communities in the west coast of the country.
This me, and my daughter Sadie. Right now, things aren’t looking too good for us. I’m disabled and can’t work, and her Dad lost his job and is subsequently depressed. He’s not eligible for unemployment, and we can’t get any Assistance until our property manager visits us. She doesn’t even return our calls.
We have only a few cents in our bank account, and no food stamps left. There is no milk for Sadie, and our electric bill isn’t paid.
If you can, please donate to my paypal at sarkatmoon@yahoo.com, OR you can message me for my address and send a money order. I’ve asked for help before, and it didn’t work, and I wouldn’t ask again if I wasn’t so scared and stressed out right now.
So help an Autistic, NDN Mama out. Even if you can’t donate, signal boost. And if you can’t do any of that for me, do it for my little girl.
Thank you.
It’s the end of the month, and we’re feeling it hard, so if you want, throw a few donations this way. I feel bad asking again.
With winds reaching 200 miles an hour, Patricia is the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere, according to The Weather Channel. It is expected to hit the west coast of Mexico by late Friday afternoon.
So are they going to use the description that it is a “Ten Thousand Year Storm”? Whenever they use the phrase “ X Years Storm”, it is to distract from Climate change and make it sound normal, just unusual.
WOW! Where did this hurricane come from?! Hurricane Patricia is the strongest hurricane in all recorded history. I’ve been so busy with work, I haven’t looked at the news all week. Look at that horrifying path! She’ll hit Texas over the weekend, which is already dealing with massive flooding and surely the governor will declare a state of emergency (and, sorry guys for the political jab, be forced to request federal assistance from Obama. Awkwarrdd…).
Oh man, this is horrible.
To put Patricia into perspective, Hurricane Katrina - which devastated New Orleans, killed ~2,000 people, and exposed how deeply weak the United States disaster response system really is - clocked maximum winds of 174 miles per hour (280kmh). Typhoon Haiyan in 2013 was the previous record holder with 196 mph/315kmh winds (~6,500 people killed).
Patricia is clocking 200 miles per hour (322kmh), making her the strongest storm, ever. No one knows what to expect regarding damage.
Eight million people in Mexico are in imminent danger, and millions more are at extremely high risk. Let’s hope Mexico is prepared…
