I seriously DO NOT GET why you have so many haters. I don't even find your posts "controversial". They are common sense. Like, I've had haters but nothing like this. It's so weird to me that so many people have a problem with someone telling the truth. AND ON THEIR OWN FUCKING BLOG. Like, go the fuck away weirdos.

Answer

most white people don’t like to hear the truth.

“Non-Indian invaders created a caricature of the Indian. They described us so often and so consistently over generations that we began to believe the lies ourselves and act in harmony with this view. A lie told a thousand times often becomes the truth to those who tell it, to those who hear it, and even to those the lie is about.” Don L. Coyhis & William L. Answer

How is my focus misplaced?

How does one individual white person help stop/overthrow white privilege and make equality more prevalent? *genuine question*

I think the first step would be to research; research the genocides white people have committed against people of color, how many of these races and cultures that survived genocide were forced into assimilation and how, who are laborers that built and financed the U.S. ( and other countries) past and present, segregation then and now, broken treaties, the economical benefits from enslaving African Americans and Chinese Americans and their abuse and treatment, colonialism, the exploitation of people of color in many countries through Free Trade, institutionalized racism, education that caters to white cultures and downplays and lies about the treatment of people of color, the benefits of white privilege, and more. ( sorry I haven’t had coffee yet or truly woken up, and there is so, so much more to research ) Compassion will follow this knowledge.

edit: compassion should follow; but often doesn’t.

Hello. Different anon here. I have Cherokee in my ancestry. What the fuck. I understand that us Native Americans WERE oppressed in the past. BUT THAT IS THE PAST. Depending on "how Native American" someone is, we get special college scholorships for college education. This is only one example. Basically, stop beibg so ignorant and please educate yourself on how life for us is today.

Answer

If you think Native peoples are no longer oppressed than you are too ignorant to be discussing this topic.

You need to get off your high horse and take your misguided over-sensitive judgement and lock it away somewhere. You're victimizing the whole culture, which frankly is more disrespectful than harmless costumes and pictures from people who are only admiring what they know and have been shown for years in work such as Pocahontas, westerns, and history books, and more. So start at the source and look at all the false representation that was fed to the "white people" and others MANY MANY years ago!

Answer

White people are not victims of racist stereotypes in the media; you created them. Deflecting responsibility off to someone or something else is not going to make you any less racist. Media is a negative influence; but media doesn’t force you to wear racist costumes or post damaging imagery. Don’t pass the buck.

Disney fans to avoid

The hair color equals diversity fan:
Look at all the hair colors. There's a blonde, a brunette, and a red head! So much diversity!

The it wouldn't be accurate fan:
Stop complaining, there are like four princesses of color and you want more. That would be historically inaccurate.

The I wish there were more white princesses that looked like me fan:
I wish that more blonde haired a blue eyed princesses because I can't relate to any of the other white ones.

You didn't give me any reasons? But ok. I will be quiet.

Answer

I am guessing you are white because you came to my blog demanding that I show you proof of how Native peoples are being oppressed, which a) leads me to believe you are completely ignorant to what happens to us, b) you are attempting to deny that Native peoples are oppressed by demanding proof, c) not doing the research for yourself, and d) by assuming that I should be here to give you my time and information.
