about me

My name is Melissa Rose Whitecotton, I go by Rose, and I am the parent of Little Bear who is eight years old. We are Chahta and non-citizen Tsalagi. I am mixedrace but I identify as Native American; although I do recognize that I benefit from white privilege and white passing privilege, which is often discussed on both my tumblrs. I blog about racism, white privilege, decolonization, child development, environmental sustainability, intersectional feminism, human sexuality, and more.

I am twenty seven. I live in Northern California; I grew up in the mountains in a remote, rural town, now I am living in a small town. My college major is Sustainable Agriculture; and my goal is to someday live off-grid on my own farm-ranch. I am in RECOVERY for depression and PTSD. I am on the Autism Spectrum (ASD), and Little Bear is too. I work two part time jobs that bring me great joy. I identify as gender-ambiguous. I am bisexual and most attracted to a person I am in love with.

My sun sign is Sagittarius, Moon in Aquarius, and Libra Rising.  I received the label of INFP on the Myer’s Brigg’s personality test, the Idealist or the Healer. I am also an artist; I draw, paint, write, sing, dance, and perform. I teach Native American crafts, dance, and survival skills.
